MSFI Celebrates 28th Annual Scholars' Night

The 28th Annual Scholars’ Night of the Marubeni Scholarship Foundation, Inc. (MSFI) was held last November 29, 2017 in Makati City.

More than 50 scholars, past and present, attended the event. Also in attendance were the Board of Trustees and Officers of MSFI, officers of Marubeni Philippines Corporation and representatives of the beneficiary schools of MSFI.

A number of scholars were invited to give appreciation messages. Mr. Patrick Neil Cutillas, who came all the way Cebu, thanked the Foundation for allowing him to finish his education in CITE. Another scholar, Ms. Almera Abenis of Don Bosco Training Center in Borngan, Eastern Samar, reminded her fellow scholars to have the right attitude for a better future. Anihan Technical School Faculty Assistant, Ms. Vina Gacusan, expressed her gratitude for helping her finish her studies which helped in securing her future. Ms. Issandra Latoza, a graduate scholar of Balete Family Farm School, shared her inspiring story while Mr. Jhonrou Mulle of Don Bosco Technical Institute of Makati relayed his aspiration to have a good employment to be able to help his family. Mr. Reynaldo Donzal gave an entertaining speech that highlighted his life as a scholar and ended it with a rousing song number.

MSFI was established in 1989 through a grant from Marubeni Corporation. As a scholarship foundation, it has been supporting underprivileged young Filipinos seeking technical and vocational education. For the year 2017, MSFI has 86 scholars in 13 beneficiary schools all over Luzon and Visayas. Since its inception, MSFI has already awarded 2,826 scholarship grants in total.
