The San Roque Multi-Purpose Project

Four Purposes of the San Roque Multi-Purpose Project

 

1. Irrigation

Provides more irrigated water to improve agricultural productivity.

Expands irrigated land up to 87,000ha. ( Project initiated by National Irrigation Administration)

2. Power Generation

      • Generates 345MW (or approx. 1,000Gwh/year) of renewable energy to Luzon Island. (Equivalent as XXX households consumption)
      • Contributes the qualitative improvement of electricity
      • Contributes the Easy ON-OFF method which helps to relieve blackout problems
      • Automatic power regulation which contributes to stabilize voltage/frequency

 

3. Flood Control

  • Attenuates the flood peak using Flood Control Capacity.

4. Water Quality Improvement

  • Uses dead storage to retain polluted soils.
  • Improves water quality for downstream irrigation.
