San Roque Power Corporation (SRPC)

SRPC is the project implementation and operation and maintenance (O&M) company for the San Roque Multi-Purpose Project of which NPC is the off-taker of its 345 MW hydro peaking power. The EPC contractor is Raytheon Ebasco Overseas Limited. SRPC is jointly owned by Marubeni Corporation Tokyo at 42.45%, Sithe Philippine Holdings at 50.05%, and Kansai Electric Power of Singapore at 7.5%. it will start producing power by early 2003. Other than providing 345 MW of competitively priced peaking power, the San Roque will greatly help stabilize the electricity grid system of the whole of the Luzon Island. It will also irrigate an additional 80,000 hectares of ricefields on the Lower Agno River Basin in three Northeren Luzon provinces, help reduce flooding downstream of the river and improve water quality by trapping suspended mine tailings.

Marubeni Energy Services Corporation (MESC)

MESC is the O&M company for the 2 Marubeni-owned geothermal plants in Mindanao - the Mindanao 1 & 2 Geothermal Partnership. These 2 power plant projects for which the PNOC-EDC is the off-taker of its 97MW power generation, were originally constructed under a 50-50 equity sharing arrangement within Oxbow Power Corporation of West Palm Beach, Florida, USA, but is now 100% owned by Marubeni Corporation. It is under a 10-year energy conversion agreement whereby PNOC supplies the steam free-of-charge and pays the Mindanao Geothermal Partnership a fixed amount for converting said steam to electricity, which PNOC-EDC then sells to NAPOCOR.

This is another anchor baseload power plant in the Mindanao grid system which, together with the many hydro plants, contribute a stable, reliable and cost efficient power to the island of Mindanao.
