Together with our Tokyo Overseas and Telecom & Information Department, our business development projects involve’s prime contracting, establishment of joint venture, execution of telecommunication related engineering, procurement, total system integration, financial arrangement, logistic management, project management and construction projects and network infrastructure project and public security solution.

Thus, by taking advantage of our competence and global network as a sogo shosha, we seek to enter new fields of endeavor in Information Technology and Communications, not only as a business concern but more importantly, in our desire to redefine ourselves in the digital economy. To do so, we seek to take advantage of the IT Revolution and Globalization by being an "integrator" in brining the elements our expertise and core competence in addressing the needs of our customers and their customers.
We are convinced that Information Technology and Communications will be the drivers behind the socio-economic development of the Philippines. However, genuine socio-economic development is possible only if the benefits of Information Technology and Communications are available to every Filipino. Therefore, in cooperation with its partners in Japan and all over the world, Marubeni seeks to bring its resources, technologies and expertise in successfully implementing projects that would have relevant impact in the daily lives of millions of Filipinos.
Projects
and Services

In 2003, Marubeni Corporation won a successful bidding process in Japan as the main Contractor for the supply of JICA’s Grant Aid for the establishment of the PNP Automated Fingerprint System (AFIS). The contract was signed between PNP and Marubeni in October 10, 2003 and the system chosen was NEC’s AFIS. Since its formal turn – over to the PNP by the Japanese Ambassador Ryuichiro Yamazaki last May 2005, the PNP AFIS has been fully operational and became the first Criminal Automated Fingerprint System in the Philippines.

Marubeni Philippines can boast of extensive experience in the construction, total system integration and management of telephony projects in the Philippines.
Our most important projects in the Telecommunications Industry include:
- The outside plant network for PLDT's X5 Complementary Project and the Zero Backlog Program
- The digitalization and expansion of Piltel's General Santos, Baguio and Olongapo exchanges
- PILTEL E.O. 109 Project for 400,000 lines
- Supply of PLDT's ANRITSU Integrated Chip (IC) Card Payphone System
- Satellite broadcast of ABS-CBN (Channel 2) in Japan
- Technical & Marketing Support for Smart's Inter-operator SMS between Japan and the Philippines
- Licensing and Distribution of Taito logos to Smart Communitaion.
